What to expect from an Open Day
In this two-hours session, we will introduce the very basics of Japanese sword techniques, such as how to hold the sword and how to swing, correct posture, footwork and budō etiquette.
Everyone who is interested in learning iaidō is welcome. We accept participants from the age of 18 and above.
Clothing & Equipment
Fūgetsudō will provide the students with basic equipment for the lessons.
You will receive a bokutō (wooden sword), and an obi (belt) for keeping the sword in place. If you already own suitable equipment, let us know during your application.
As for clothing, you may practise with comfortable clothes or any sportswear. Please note that we practise iaidō barefoot.
