Fūgetsudō Dōjō
Fūgetsudō Dōjō is part of the Fūgetsudō Association. The dōjō leaders Taciser Sevinç and Berna Pekyavaş are practising iaidō under the supervision of Selçuk BURNAZ Sensei (Iaidō Renshi 7th Dan) from Anadolu Iaidō in Turkey, and Norio FURUICHI Sensei (Iaidō Kyoshi 8th Dan, Kendō Kyoshi 7th Dan) from Hombu Dōjō, Shōushikai Budō Juku in Japan.
Dōjō Name
Fūgetsudō means The Hall of Cool Breeze and Bright Moon.
風 (fuu / kaze) wind, breeze, style, manner
月 (getsu / tsuki) the moon, month, moon light
堂 (dou) -company, hall, public chamber, temple
The “fūgetsu” term is used to describe nature’s beauty, and it also refers to learning from nature. The Jisho Japanese dictionary also examples it as “cool breeze and bright moon”. In the American Haiku Foundation’s glossary, the term describes the natural scenery, which is considered the essential element of true or fine art.

Iaidō 4th Dan
Kendō 4th Dan
Taciser Sevinç was born in Elazig, Turkey, in 1980. She started practising kendō and iaidō in Istanbul Kendō, in 2010, later in 2013, she moved to Lotus Kendō, and continued practising kendō and teaching iaidō until 2016. In the meantime, she visited Selçuk Burnaz Sensei regularly and practised Muso Shinden Ryu iaidō. Under his supervision, she represented Turkey in the European Iaidō Championships as a member of the National Iaidō Team of Turkey in 2013 (Meze), 2014 (Vantaa), 2016 (Budapest – won the 3rd place medal in 3rd dan level), 2017 (Turin), and 2019 (Athens – won the Fighting Spirit prize in teams).
She moved to the Netherlands in 2016, and shortly after, she started teaching kendō at Yūshinkan dōjō. There she practised Shinkage Ryu iaidō between 2018 and 2021. Since 2021, she has been practising kendō in Museidō dōjō in Amsterdam, under the supervision of Louis Vitalis Sensei (Kendō Kyoshi 7th Dan, Iaidō Kyoshi 7th Dan, Jōdō Kyoshi 7th Dan).
Taciser passed the iaidō 4th Dan exam in Vianen, Netherlands, in January 2020, and kendō 4th Dan exam in Amsterdam, Netherlands, in August 2022.
In March 2025, Taciser returned to the Muso Shinden Ryu iaidō, and became an official student of Selcuk Burnaz Sensei. In May, she founded the Fūgetsudō Dōjō together with Berna Pekyavas in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Berna Pekyavas
Iaidō 4th Dan
Kendō 1st Dan
Berna Pekyavaş was born in Istanbul, Turkey, in 1989. She started practising iaidō with Selçuk Burnaz Sensei in 2014, and between 2015 and 2019, she represented Turkey in the European Iaidō Championships as a member of the National Iaidō Team of Turkey.
In 2017, Berna moved to Japan and there she continued her iaidō training with Norio Furuichi Sensei. She won the 3rd place in 2rd Dan division at Kanagawa Prefecture Iaidō Taikai, in June 2018. In April 2022, she moved to the Netherlands.
Berna passed the kendō 1st Dan exam in Kanagawa, Japan in September 2018, and iaidō 4th Dan exam in the ABFK High Grade iaidō Seminar in Belgium, in June 2025.
Since 2023, Berna Pekyavas has been the official Japanese language translator and an honorary member of Shōshikai Belgium group. In May 2025, she founded the Fūgetsudō Dōjō together with Taciser Sevinc in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Dōjō Etiquette
At Fūgetsudō dōjō we care for and learn from each other.
- We accept members and students from the age of 18 and above.
- We do not discriminate, we respect each other, everybody is welcome, regardless of their gender, religion or ethnic background.
- The dōjō is a place to practise iaidō with pleasure, to train together without prejudice and to make life-long friends.
- In the dōjō, we follow the instructions of the teachers, and we adhere to budō etiquette, which you will learn in the lessons.
- We only enter the dōjō barefoot or with socks, we do not eat or drink inside, but water is allowed.
- It is the responsibility of the dōjō members to inform the teachers about their physical or mental unwellness at any time.
- We ensure that we are mentally and physically able to train together safely.
- There is no place for aggression, abuse, intimidation or bullying in the dōjō.
- In the dōjō ground, being present under the influence of alcohol or other narcotics is not permitted.
- The Fūgetsudō management can deny someone access to the dōjō at any time, and permanently, if necessary.
- Fūgetsudō members and students accept these terms by participating in the lessons.
