Affiliations
The Fūgetsudō Association and the Fūgetsudō Dōjō have affiliations with higher organisations, in order to provide a basis for quality education. We follow the latest developments in the field of budō and to convey them to our members.
The association is affiliated with the Netherlands Kendo Federation (NKR), which has affiliations with a number of umbrella organisations. Some of these organisations are the International Kendo Federation (FIK), the European Kendo Federation (EKF), and the Eastern Martial Arts Federation (FOG), the Netherlands Olympic Committee & Netherlands Sports Federation (NOC*NSF).
Fūgetsudō Dōjō is affiliated with Shōushikai Budō Juku in Japan. Dōjō leaders Taciser Sevinc and Berna Pekyavas are practising iaidō under the supervision of Selçuk BURNAZ Sensei, the founder of the Anadolu Iaidō in Turkey, who is a student of Norio FURUICHI Sensei, the founder of the Shōushikai Budō Juku.
Fūgetsudō Dōjō also follows the news and activities of All Japan Kendo Federation (ZNKR), and uses their guidance in teaching the way of the sword.

Norio Furuichi 「古市典雄」 was born in the city of Tanagura in Fukushima, Japan, in October 1951. He started practising iaidō and kendō with One Ichiro Sensei, Hanshi 8th Dan in Ibaraki Prefecture. He trained under his guidance between 1963 and 1974, until he graduated.
In April 1975, he began teaching iaidō at Tokai University in Kanagawa. Between the years of 1977 and 1979, Furuichi Sensei deepened his knowledge with Izawa Zensaku Sensei, Hanshi 8th Dan.
Furuichi Sensei founded the Shoshikai Budō Juku in Ebina, Kanagawa Prefecture, in 1989. He was assigned by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs as an “Ambassador of Japanese Culture”. He was sent to more than 20 countries on various continents, where he spread kendō and iaidō teachings. In May 2025, he was appointed as the president of the Kanagawa iaidō Federation in Japan.
Since 1990, Furuichi Sensei has been organising regular seminars in Belgium, Italy, Germany, Greece and Poland. Today, Shoushikai Budō Juku has expanded to 9 countries and 35 schools.

Renshi 7th Dan Iaidō
Selçuk Burnaz was born in Istanbul, Turkey, in 1956. After graduating from Marmara University, Department of Business Administration, he worked as a senior manager at PriceWaterHouse, Alarko, Anadolu Endustri Holding and Urart Duty-Free Store Companies. He practised karate with Hakki Kosar, Ugur Kesim, Hakan Alpay ve Atilla Celikturk Sensei between 1977 and 1978.
In September 2000, Selcuk Burnaz started practising iaidō. He is the founder of Anadolu Iaidō in Istanbul, where he teaches the ZNKR iaidō, and Muso Shinden-ryu iaidō. Under the Turkish Kendō Association, he has been the ambassador of Turkish iaidō. He has been standing as the technical director of the Turkish National Team of Iaidō for many years.
Since 2015, he has been following Norio FURUICHI Sensei (Iaidō Kyoshi 8th Dan, Kendō Kyoshi 7th Dan). Anadolu Iaidō has been a member of the Shōshikai family since 2019.
Selcuk Burnaz received his Renshi shōgō from the British Kendō Association in 2019. In June 2024, he passed the 7th Dan exam at the High Grade Seminar in Budapest. By this achievement, he became the first 7th Dan in Turkey.
Every April, Selçuk Sensei travels to Japan to train with Furuichi Sensei in the Shōushikai Budō Juku in Japan.
Nederlandse Kendō Renmei
The Dutch Kendō Federation (NKR) is the officially recognised organisation for the Japanese Budō sports; Kendō, Jodō and Iaidō in the Netherlands.
The federation was founded in 1966, and is affiliated with the International Kendo Federation (FIK) and the European Kendo Federation (EKF), as well as The Netherlands Olympic Committee & Netherlands Sports Federation (NOC*NSF) through membership of the Eastern Martial Arts Federation (FOG).
Teachers and members of Fūgetsudō are obliged to become a member of NKR individually. This way, members can participate in the central training sessions, national and international competitions, seminars with highly regarded sensei from home and abroad, all organised by NKR. Members also need the permission and administration services of NKR to sit an exam to pass their dan grade.
